Sean & Crystal’s Baltimore Carnival Engagement Shoot

05 May Sean & Crystal’s Baltimore Carnival Engagement Shoot

Sean Flora is a native of Washington, DC where he is a Management Analyst for the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).
Sean Flora
His lovely fiance Crystal Love is a Contract Specialist for EMMES Corporation. Originally from Akron, Ohio, fate placed Crystal in Silver Spring, Maryland where she would soon meet the love of her life.  After the big day, this lovely couple will reside in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Sean and Crystal are a fun and playful couple, so it was only right that they purchased tickets to a carnival, play some games, and have their awesome engagement photoshoot happen all at the same time in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. We got a chance to ask this fun couple a few questions and snag some awesome engagement photos from their super talented photographer Ashleigh of Shoot Happens Photography.

How did you guys meet?

Sean and I met at church through his Mother. I was enrolled in his mother’s class at church and we just clicked. She told both Sean and I separately that we needed to meet the other, but neither of us jumped at this suggestion. We officially met in April/May 2013 and saw each other at church on a semi-regular basis. We were on a “Hi, how’s it going?” basis, nothing serious.

One day in December 2013 we were both at a mutual friends home for a party and actually got a chance to sit down and talk. Sean texted me that night to make sure I got home safely and that started the beginning of us.

Give us the deets! When and how did he propose?
Sean proposed on December 20, 2014 in Ohio at my mother’s 60th surprise party. He’d secretly worked with my two sisters to plan the proposal for about 2-3 months. During the remarks portion of the party, guests were asked to say something or share a memory about my mother. Sean eventually stood up to speak, said a few words, then got down on one knee. He told my mother his gift to her from him, was a promise to take care of her daughter for the rest of his life. He asked, I said “OMG, YES!”  It was the most beautiful proposal I’ve ever seen (yes, I’m biased). The surprise didn’t stop there, Sean had arranged for our family and friends in Maryland to watch the proposal live via Skype!! We truly were surrounded by the people who we love and who loves us the most. I’m still on cloud nine just thinking about it.
I LOVED the part of the video when Sean tells your mom, “Crystal has your gift.” So when is the big day?!
We get married on Friday November 13, 2015 in Beltsville, Maryland at The Villa.
As a former bride and a wedding planner, I know just how stressful planning can become. What do you guys do to take a break from wedding planning?
We love to eat out. Most of our date nights are trying a new restaurant. Most recently we took an Asian Fusion cooking class. We got to get away and enjoy some time cooking together and laughing a lot in the process. We try to do something or eat somewhere different on a monthly basis. Groupon and Livingsocial are truly good friends in the Flora home.

As I mentioned, my favorite line from the proposal video is, “Crystal has your gift!” Go take a look at their proposal video  on YouTube to see what I mean! You’ll be smiling in anticipation the whole time! Congrats again to you Sean and Crystal. We wish you a lifetime of happiness! 🙂

Special Thanks to Ashleigh owner of Shoot Happens Photography for these super fun and lovely photos! Make sure you check out Ashleigh’s website and like her on Facebook and follow her on Instagram.
