Hi, I’m Cheylaina! [Pronounced Shay-lay-na] Now that you’ve figured out how to say my name you’re probably wondering how I became a Certified Wedding Planner. My first thought of becoming a wedding planner happened in my fashion merchandising class in high school. We were watching the movie “The Wedding Planner” and I instantly became infatuated with being the woman in charge of planning and executing the details of every girl’s most memorable day! At that moment some 10 years ago, I’ll never forget telling myself, “Wow, one day I’m going to be a wedding planner!!” Upon receiving my B.S. degree in Journalism & Mass Communication with a concentration in Electronic Media, I headed on the path of graduate school and studied Elementary Education (don’t ask why). I soon found out I did not want to be a part of the school system. In 2012, after 2 years of nonprofit event planning under my belt, a few bridal showers, baby showers, and tons of administrative skills, I decided to put my eye for design and details to work. I became a Certified Wedding Planner through the Bridal Society and birthed Creative Purposes by C.Fultz.
